If you don't feel comfortable telling the professor directly, you should definitely mention it in the end of term feedback comments. Not to get all pomo on you, but a class about the construction of gender should try to avoid Othering people of non-dominant sexualities, especially since there are increasing numbers of college students willing and able to own their queerness of whatever stripe, and sexuality tends to be one of those appropriate gender determined things for people. I mean, it could be that it never occurred to the professor that the class (or at least that particular discussion) was structured poorly. Or it could be that that was just an unusually heterosexual section of that class that you are in. No easy way to tell.
