2015 year in review

REAL LIFE HIGHLIGHTS: in March I visited Kait (pocky_slash) in Boston and attended the final Muskrat Jamboree and all in all had one of the best weeks ever. I also started a new job (as temp-to-hire; it became permanent in September). The job is much better than all the crappy call center jobs that have made up most of my work history post-college--it pays way better, it's steadier, I'm good at it, I like my co-workers, just all around a good thing. Finally, in July, my latest nephew was born, bringing the total of my brother's kids up to three boys and one girl under six; all four of them are the lights of my life.

FAVORITE MOVIE SEEN THIS YEAR: Magic Mike XXL. Honorable mentions: Spy; Inside Out.

FAVORITE BOOK READ THIS YEAR: Sorcerer to the Crown by Zen Cho. Honorable mentions: Think of England by KJ Charles; A Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev.

FAVORITE TV SHOW SEEN THIS YEAR: Agent Carter. Honorable mentions: Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries season 3; Jessica Jones.

FAVORITE ALBUM LISTENED TO THIS YEAR: Hamilton original cast recording. (I'm not putting an honorable mention here, because I literally can't remember anything else I listened to this year.)

FAVORITE PODCAST LISTENED TO THIS YEAR: Rachel and Miles X-Plain the X-Men. Honorable mentions: Worst Bestsellers; the final episodes of The Thrilling Adventure Hour.

I also spent a lot of time on the XBox this year, as I actually learned to play video games! So far my experiences have been almost solely Bioware (I really enjoyed all three Mass Effect games, Dragon Age 2, and Dragon Age Inquisition), but maybe I'll actually expand my horizons even more in 2016! (Recs welcome.)

I think that's about it? I'm going to do another year-in-review post in a few days that's just about fic I've written.

Basically, if you can put it in the category of "practicing" or "helping each other out" or anything where it's totally not gay and totally not a big deal (except maybe for how they're totally secretly in love with each other, whoops) I WILL EAT IT UP WITH A SPOON FOREVER.

Which is how we get here, fifty thousand words of awkward boners and feeeeeeeeelings later. Maybe you like those things too! If so, I think you will like this story. If not... well, I'm sure you are still an awesome person. I don't judge.
