eeep!
My two main goals for December have been to read as many books as possible and read as much fanfiction as possible, because I think my opportunities for both of those will decrease drastically when I am back at school. So far, the former quest is going better than the latter, especially thanks to the library visit earlier in the week. In the last few days, I've read Deep Secret by Diana Wynne Jones (which I'd read before, three or four years ago, and not appreciated as much as I did now, I think); Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett; the fourth in the Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket; and I'm now in the middle of the second of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books. All of them are being quite satisfying.
Also, I am jealous of everybody who has Firefly DVDs now. I found the episodes I burned to CD a while ago, though, so I think I may rewatch them later. And Molly sent me a copy of Trash, so I got to see that for the first time.
Oh! Which reminds me. I was thinking the other day about how I like most of the characters in the cast, but each of them seems to have one episode that really showcases them, that you can point to and wonder how someone can watch that and not appreciate them. Trash made me appreciate Inara more than I did before. Out of Gas is where I started to love Mal. Jayne's is, predictably, Jaynestown, I think. For River and Simon, I'm thinking Objects in Space for the former and Safe for the latter, but I'm not positive. I'm undecided about everybody else, too. Any thoughts?

Hiya! I think I'll jump in here and say War Stories for Wash. Because that look he gives Zoe in the shuttle, after she saves him, and the line he gives: "Bastard's not gonna get days." That's when you see who Wash has become. Like the rest of them, he's come into his own.
I'm not sure that Kaylee or Book ever did get an episode like that - or Zoe, really - but maybe that's because they never had a chance to tell Book's story, and you have to love Kaylee and Zoe from the get-go. *grin*
