*cough*

Rereading The Grand Tour, because yeah, as I mentioned the other day, I *heart* it muchly; it's a lovely comfort read till I get to the library this weekend.

I have nothing to say in relation to the quote I share, but please note my mood icon.

Naturally, Aunt Charlotte made a number of shocked and uncomplimentary remarks when she discovered what we were planning. As it was none of her affair, James and I ignored her. Afrer all, Aunt Elizabeth did not see anything amiss about it, and she is at least as high a stickler as Aunt Charlotte. (Well, actually, what Aunt Elizabeth said was that if going on a wedding journey together was the oddest thing the four of us ever did, Aunt Charlotte should be grateful.)

Who wrote The Grand Tour? Just based on the quote, it sounds like my kind of book.

It's by Patricia C. Wrede and Caroline Stevermer -- it's a sequel to their previous novel, Sorcery and Cecelia.

Heh. I am been embracing the "smuggling books thorugh family library accounts" way of life for years now.

(random lurker type here!)

Have you also read a School of Magics by Caroline Stevermer? The sequel to that one came out at the same time as The Grand Tour. Also very good!

Yes, I liked A School of Magics quite a bit! The sequel's on my big long reading list, but I haven't gotten to it yet.
