star trek novels
I need recs for what Star Trek novels to read. So far all I've read is How Much For Just the Planet and both of the New Voyages. Things to keep in mind: I'm only interested in TOS; I have a short attention span; Kirk/Spock subtext is highly preferred; entertainment value is more important to me than literary quality at the moment.
Also, thank you to everybody who sent the snowflake cookies in my profile! They make me smile everytime I see them. <3333

Killing Time is hugely and immensely gay. Also, it has alternate universes and Romulans and is a lot of fun, if kinda ridiculous.
Everything by Diane Duane is excellent, but especially The Wounded Sky.

But my number one rec, and I think a lot of people would agree, is Spock's World by Diane Duane. The Trek novel so awesome Abrams considers it canon.
There's a framing story about Vulcan trying to decide whether or not to remain fully engaged with the Federation, and it gives good Spock, Kirk and McCoy. But the real glory of it is inside the framing story, with all of these dramatic, awesome, really really Vulcan stories from the history of Vulcan, including loads of Pre-Surak and how Sarek and Amanda got together. It is epic win.

Doctor's Orders
The Final Reflection
Strangers From The Sky
(erm... yeah, I'm useless with subtext.)
