christmas letters!

Dear [livejournal.com profile] ds_seekritsanta writer,

Thank you so much for this story! Frannie/RayK is totally a not-so-secret kink of mine, and they're both really cute here. (Plus, uh, the vague incest intimations at the end didn't hurt at all!)

Yay, story!

wheeeee,
Pearl-o

Dear [livejournal.com profile] yuletide writer,

Here's the thing: I so don't deserve a story this good. I actually didn't manage to finish my story this year, because of various panicky stressful things, so really, my fannish karma should have me gotten something, well... crappy.

This story is so far from the fannish purgatory I was expecting it's not even funny.

I can't imagine Rome was anything like an easy fandom to write for -- I don't think I could do -- but you do it wonderfully and seemingly effortlessly. Octavia and Octavian are two of my very favorite characters in the show, and I'm in love with how you do them here, with the lightest, most delicate touch, and figurative language that sounds just right.

Seriously, you took my breath away. Thank you so much, dude.

babbling with love,
Pearl-o

Dear Christmas,

Look, I have nothing but goodwill to you. The tree looks gorgeous, and I don't even know what my family got me yet, and I'm already pretty sure it'll be sweet and generous and make me glow all day. Even outside the presents, Christmas! I love Christmas! It's awesome! I dig you, man!

Which is why I just -- I don't understand what's up with this early present, dude. What on Earth did I do that makes getting a Cold From Hell settling in Christmas Eve afternoon appropriate? I mean, this is way worse than coal in my stocking! Did the idea of me feeling like I had a normal sized head, or not aching all over like I just helped somebody move lots and lots and lots of heavy furniture, or not hacking away with mucous, or even -- God forbid -- just being able to sleep?

...If this is because of the messing up Yuletide thing, I don't think that's a very funny joke.

I realize that it's only 2 am, so I really hope you shape up with the next 22 hours. I would very much appreciate it!

Yours hopefully,
erica

P.S. Not to mention that you've totally ruined the experiment with booze that was supposed to happen these two days. LAME.
