Gibbs said, "Great work, Abs," as he handed her the soda and leaned in to kiss her gently on the forehead. Tony and Ziva followed him out, bickering over who was going to drive to Norfolk to check out the lead. Abby beamed to herself and kept working, so close to a breakthrough she could feel it. She was in the zone, almost there, hours later when McGee came up to the lab to be the one to tell her about the bomb.

The sled had arrived that he and Inspector Thatcher would be taking to the airport to return once more to Chicago. The Inspector, however, was busy with what was presumably a goodbye to Constable Fraser. Turnbull himself had already finished his goodbyes to the Constable; he was not ashamed to admit he had wept a little. Now he knelt down on the snow and faced another he would not be seeing again.

"Farewell, kind and faithful friend," Turnbull said, and then he saluted.

In return, Diefenbaker gave his face a generous lick.

Ted opened his eyes and looked up at the ceiling. "I don't want to talk about it, Marshall."

"It was kind of weird, though, wasn't it? Since you and I are both really straight dudes and everything."

This is what they should tell you in high school when they're warning you against drugs and booze. "Seriously, Marshall, my head is going to explode. Shut up."

Marshall was quiet for approximately thirty seconds, and then he said, "Hey, what was Lily doing with that video camera?"

Newbie woke up half on the couch and half off, wrapped up in an ugly blanket. It was dark but not totally dark, that weird way it gets when you know the sun is out but nobody's letting it in the room yet. The TV was playing the Price is Right. He was lying down on someone, not all the way, but part way, at least, and the someone was warm and stirring a little, so Newbie turned onto his side and started nuzzling. Facial hair: it was a guy. The guy woke up and said, "What? Oh?" -- it was Curtis -- and then they started kissing.

That lasted a minute or so, and then there was this loud fake coughing sound coming from the other side of the room. Curtis ignored it, so Newbie did too, but then instead of coughing it was Hope saying "CURTIS!" really loudly, and Curtis pulled away then.

Newbie fell off the couch trying to sit up. He stood up and patted his hair. "Hey, Hope."

"Get out, Newbie," said Hope. She had her hands crossed on her chest. Weird tone, hardly sounded like Hope a lot, too pissy. Newbie shrugged and grabbed his jacket off the coffee table and his shoes from next to the TV and left.
