More Star Trek episodes I have watched lately: Devil in the Dark, Journey to Babel, A Piece of the Action, Errand of Mercy. ellen_fremedon was completely correct about Devil in the Dark -- that was the best alien. This was definitely an episode where I could see very clearly how Star Trek has influenced other sci-fi shows, too. Journey to Babel was mostly fun to see Amanda and Sarek; the best scene was the one where Amanda slapped Spock for not saving his father's life. A Piece of the Action was amazing just for Shatner's performance once they got into the gangster clothes. And Errand of Mercy is being pretty gay -- both a lot of Kirk & Spock friendship stuff, but also the Klingon commander keeps hitting on Kirk. Excellent.

Here is a website I found yesterday. It is making me pretty happy. SO MUCH STUFF I WANT TO MAKE ON SO MANY WEBSITES. Siiiiiigh.

Ii just watched Errand of Mercy and I noticed that about the Klingon commander too.

A good half of the Klingons in TOS were pretty fey. The one in "The Trouble With Tribbles" is the one I've always thought was most in love with Kirk. He was played by William Campbell, who also played the Extremely Fey Squire Trelane in "The Squire of Gothos". (I think the current fanon hypothesis about Trelane is that he's a baby Q.)

But the one in "Errand of Mercy" is much sexier.

Not that the tie-in novels are strong canon, but that theory does get an airing in a great Next Gen novel, Q Squared, if I remember correctly.

Also, if they make more Reboot!Trek, will they feature classic Klingons or bumpyhead Klingons? :D

It was really kind of hot. Both in this and Balance of Terror I really like how Kirk seems to bond with the enemy commanders. OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE SAME COIN?

I know what the universe needs.

The universe needs Kirk/(first) Romulan Commander. In the ST:AOS universe, this could TOTALLY WORK OUT.

The second Romulan Commander is a bit out of luck, though, isn't she? That's ok. She always seemed like she could be into Subcommander Tal.
