Man, impertinence and I were emailing back and forth earlier on reasonably interesting topics and somehow we once again got diverted into a discussion of Ray and Gerard being freaking adorable losers in life. I don't care if nobody writes it, that is a motherfucking excellent pairing, you guys, and it doesn't get enough love.

Anyway, at some point we were discussing a picture that neither of us has saved, and I ended up looking through tons of people's old picspams looking for it, to no avail. (It's one where Ray is signing, like, a guitar or something? and Gerard is way off to the side looking really hilariously sad about it, all curled in on himself little kid like. If you have it, share.) And looking at all those picspams brought me to a conclusion, and that conclusion is this:

(Ahaha, you guys read my post the other day about how I think the reason I don't like TBPID! live CD as much is because you can't hear his back-up vocals at all and it sounds weird, right? I told Imp I don't think that opinion is caused by my Raywifing, but there's no way to tell for sure.)

That is a completely different occasion half-naked man floor-wrestling. Oh, James Dewees, you brought out such a good side of Ray. (Note for n00bs: James Dewees is the frontman for Reggie & the Full Effect; he played keyboards for My Chem on TBP tour and also married Mikey and Alicia.)



This is my favorite picture of Ray and Frank ever, hands down. And they have taken a lot of horrible pictures together. Once again though I must sadface that there is really nothing out there ficwise about the two of them when Frank first joined the band. I think the reason it's so fascinating is because Ray does appear to be such a softie it's hard to imagine him all hostile or jealous or aggressive. DO WANT.



Seriously though, how great is this picture? I think I love this one for the same reasons I love that b&w one of Mikey and Frank sititing on the stage so much -- it just seems like such a quiet little moment of reality and friendship. The two of them going outside for a smoke and bitching about the others. ♥

Okay so Toro. The thing that I find adorable is that he argues the first MyChem song was the Crazy Boy song in Breakfast Monkey and thinks this is awesome. Also, he's a tech-head which is another level of awesomeness. His blogs about his iphone were hilarious. There needs to be more tech-head Ray in fic.

I honestly do not understand how there is not more fic addressing this very issue. Sadly it can't really be used to further Gerard/Ray, since Gerard's sober, but still. Our canon shows Ray is a very very happy, affectionate, touch-y drunk! WHERE IS THE PORN.

UGGGH YES. The "Live & Rare" version of Famous Last Words is still so good I can just listen to it on repeat for like forever. Which is part of the reason listening to the TBPID! one is disappointing, I think! :(

GERARD AS PEOPLE'S PRETEND GIRLFRIEND IS LIKE MY FAVORITE THING IN THE WORLD. AND SO IS GERARD/RAY. OMG.

There should always be more GSF! I am intrigued by the Summer of Like Pete/Mikey/Ray mostly because I have trouble imagining Ray and Pete together like that -- I would be fascinated to see how that would work.

I was telling someone earlier how the whole Brian-is-no-longer-their-manager-but-instead-is-in-stuntman-school makes me feel kinda weird about writing and reading porn about him, I don't know why. Which is a shame, since rewatching LotMS recently has reminded me how pure an OTP Gerard/Brian is.

I think when it comes down to it, Ray is actually my most favorite. He loves his puppy and his wife and his band. And his favorite muppet is Kermit the Frog because "It's Not Being Green" is a good song, and he admits that it's probably a good thing he didn't have a girlfriend in high school because he wouldn't have learned to play the guitar, and he's a really good photographer in addition to being a completely AMAZING musicians... and... and... Really, I could go on FOREVER.

I have an extremely well-developed ability to compartmentalize, to the point where I am occasionally surprised to remember that these are real people (and this turn of events is not helping BRIAN WHAT), but I can understand your position. (Also, way to hit all of my narrative kinks, Gerard/Brian.)

I like Pete/Mikey/Ray because I like Mikey/Ray and Pete/Mikey is pretty much canon, and therefore I want to smush them together into a threesome. But I think there is also something there about Ray holing up in the studio bus all the time on Warped and Pete being really good at getting you outside of your own head--you always feel less fucked up around Pete, partly because you're standing next to a guy who will drink his own pee at the drop of a hat, but also because Pete gets it, gets you, and he doesn't judge you--and also see above re: Ray is a two-beer queer super-cuddly when drunk.

AND Gerard should be everyone's girlfriend.

Yessss. Like, basically all of MCR seem like they'd be good snugglers (...except maybe Mikey, but he could just be stealth about it) but Ray seems like he would be absolutely amazing.

I swear, not TWO DAYS AGO I was talking to someone about how there needs to be fic from Ray's POV about Frank joining the band. *EYES YOU SUSPICIOUSLY* But I think it would be so interesting! Because Ray IS such a giant softie marshmallow and seemingly All-Around Nice Guy, but he admits that having Frank join was scary for him, and there had to have been some tension those first few practices.

I'm not sure, but I think we might have discussed it a couple of weeks ago when I had my post about rewatching LotMS? Here's the thing: I am super repetitive. LJ allows me to pretend it's charming.

Either that or JERSEY IS NOT THAT FAR AWAY, MEL, I COULD BE STALKING YOU.

That first pic is so hilarious - it really does look like Toro is on an entirely different scale than the rest of them. And that is my second favorite Ray/Mikey picture! (First favorite is the one where Ray's sitting behind Mikey arranging his hands on the bass, because that's just weirdly hot.)

Ray in particular strikes me as a good snuggler, especially since it seems to be his default when he gets drunk or tired or something. Snuggles and giggles.

Mikey... you know, he strikes me as a demanding snuggler the way some cats are. Can't you picture him, doing that thing where they sit down next to you and wait for you to start petting them? Or start doing that nudge-nudge, take a hint pushing their heads at you? And then, when Ray realises he's there and does snuggle, giving that "finally!" expression before closing his eyes to better appreciate it.
