You've reminded me how I should stop making assumptions about all fandoms based on the ones I've been in. With the kink memes and their associated fandoms it is considered standard practice to warn for non-con and character death. I've never thought of them as Triggers just standard warning practices. I agree with you that asking people to warn for triggering content and providing a short list of common triggers is reasonable.
