schmerica: (crazy space incest)
There's a meme going around -- mostly Buffy/Angel fandom so far, I guess, starting from [livejournal.com profile] wesleysgirl -- about your own favorite parts from stories you have written.

What I've learned from doing this more than anything else, I think, is that I really do entertain myself a lot. I don't know if any of my little jokes work for anybody else, but I can still crack myself up. "My parents say I'm a gift from above." That's cheesy comic gold, people! Organic carrots, man.

Also, I think I tend to build on the section or story level and less on the smaller level -- ideally, one does both, of course, buy I find there are stories where there's nothing specific where I would quote or point out, but where I think it manages to keep on building on itself to be quite good. I don't know.

Anyway. I went through rereading all my stories last night, so there are quite a few here. So, uh. You can just all think I'm egotistical. Or something.

As of yesterday, I have now seen Mallrats, and am thus caught up on Kevin Smith's Viewaskewniverse oeuvre. Woohoo!

And, yeah, not so good, but I think worth watching anyway (though I still have no idea what it was that you were not-spoiling me about, [livejournal.com profile] carmarthen). Even if only because of the combination of Jason Lee (because again, mmm, hot -- hey, I watched A Guy Thing solely because he and Julia Stiles are pretty) and the audio commentary on the DVD. Because the audio commentary? Really, really fucking funny.

I'm still on my Kevin Smith kick, I think, however, so I may end up watching Dogma again tonight. Decisions, decisions.

On a completely different note, if the two evil bratty monster children do not get out of the house soon, it does not bode well for my family. I want to smack them frequently for the way they treat my mother and what they're doing for her -- not to mention my poor sister, who's been living here with them since Thanksgiving. Grrrr.
