no tv! what shall I ever do?

My life is quite boring.

The cable company apparently noticed today that my parents stopped paying for all the channels back in November; now we only have the basic, low-number ones and a couple weird random ones (Lifetime, E!, AMC).

Things accomplished the last day or two:

+ Finished my whirlwind return tour of the end of Sandman with "Brief Lives", "The Kindly Ones" and "The Wake." Was it shrift who was talking about them a little while ago? Somebody, anyway, remind me that I wanted to go and reread a bunch of the comics. And, gah. There's nothing like these stories to just make me want to *write*. Write anything. Everything. Just tell stories as well as I can.

Now I've moved on to reread Tam Lin, which is perhaps a mistake, if only because it's the best book about college I've ever read, and it's making me terribly homesick.

+ Flamed liviapenn mildly over in shrift's journal. You can see it here.

+ Quite a lot of cooking. Pancakes, welsh rarebit, brownies, cornbread, garlic simmered in oil and vinegar. I'm still going wild with the cookbook.

+ Helped my darling Clarissa take a tiny, tiny step to the dark side. sprkid is convinced that Livejournal is evil and gross, but enough of her friends have crossed over here that I gave her a code so she can have a friends page to keep up with us deserters.

+ Rented TTT, and watched all the special features (Is RotK *really* still 3+ months away? Argggh), but only the very beginning of the movie, as my sister is making me wait for her to watch with me.

I am currently looking over my icons with a critical eye. I have a desire to replace most of them and change around the whole lot.
