Many many people on my friends list seem to be putting up their fall TV viewing schedule. I feel so inadequate! My plans, right now? Everwood on Monday nights, and Smallville and Angel on Wednesday. That's it! I mean, I was away from the TV for two years; you think I'd be taking advantage of it.
(I was going to make a comment about how weird it feels for *all* of them to be on WB, too, but I realized
dammitcarl would use it as an excuse to try to lure me to The O.C.)
Speaking of
dammitcarl, one of her posts earlier mentioned Linda Cardellini, and awakened my dormant Freaks and Geeks love. Lindsaaaaaaaay! I so need a F+G icon. ETA: Nevermind! Lookit what
grrleloquence made me! She looooooves me!
Also, how on Earth did I not know that Freaks and Geeks is coming out on DVD? This is the sort of things I expect my friends list to keep me up on! Mega-bigtime-important news! I suspect it is the same conspiracy that has me the only person on lj with 'lindsay weir' as an interest. At any rate, I know where all my birthday and christmas money is going.
Watching Angel tonight made me sort of wish I'd been watching last season as it went along, while also whetting my appetite for fic -- which of course would have been easier to find as the season was going along, as I am a) lazy and b) not that familiar with the fandom. Most of what I've read in Angel has been older Wes/Gunn, if I remember correctly. But, ooh. Connor/Cordy and Wes/Faith and Connor in general and Faith in general and just lots of interesting stuff there.
The s3 promo for SV looks neat, yes. My hopes are very slowly raising themselves toward excitement. Although, can I just say, I miss 1st season Chloe hair? It was so pretty! I hope there is not a direct correlation between the quality of Chloe's hair and the quality of her character.
My only other comment on the promo ("Lana schmana!") is a dead horse that's been beaten into the ground so many times it's both boring and disturbing. Just, honey, move a little out of the way so I can see Clark looking pretty, okay? Okay.
The SN is off at beta. I've sort of nervous about actually finishing it and posting it, just because I'll have no excuse left for myself to put off working on
grrleloquence's birthday story. It's not that I don't want to write Nsync, it's just that ... well, I'm nervous. For those of you who've written both media fandom and RPF, how did you make the transition? I mean, every fandom I've written in, at the time I wrote my first story I had seen either all or very, very close to all of the canon available. A dozen hours of Smallville or Firefly, multiple viewings of any movies I've written, etc. Obviously, that's impossible with nearly a decade of canon in real life time, so. How do you used to it? How do you write?
