mmm, self-absorption...
9/10/03 16:18My favorite story is always my most recent (in this case, the Sports Night one or the Everwood I'm posting tomorrow), there's no way to tell how much I'll like them in a few months.
So, two stories of mine that I would recommend:
Tourniquet. Firefly. Summary: Simon's on top of things. Really.
This is probably the story that really comes the very closest to capturing I had in mind when I began it. I can reread it and be proud of the writing, the characterization, and the mood. It's crazy space incest (Simon/River) but it's subdued, and in fact, I think this is probably the story of mine that most closely resembles canon. I'm just very proud of it, and I enjoy it a lot.
Rings and Sores. Smallville. Summary: There's more than one way.
My favorite of my Smallville stories changes frequently. This isn't the one that's most popular, or that I think has the best writing, or even the one with the most meaning for me personally. But it's the one I'd recommend, nonetheless. It was kind of an experiment for me, finding a line for myself between happy riftless futurefic and that of dark dark apocalyptic craziness. The two things that I tended to get in feedback for this were "sweet" and "creepy", and it was managing that combination, that line, that made me happy. The Clark and Lex here aren't the ones I generally see, but ones I could believe in anyway, as they keep tempering and changing each other.
