schmerica: (sports night)
It's midmorning when Natalie wakes up, the sunlight crackling through the thin curtains. She can feel Jeremy still asleep behind her; his hand's resting on her hip like there was never a night it wasn't there.

She untangles herself carefully from the messy bed and wraps herself in Jeremy's worn bathrobe before she heads to the kitchen. He still keeps the coffee in the same place, but it's a different brand -- it's like a strange little reminder that the past few months have been real, and not just her imagination.

She thinks about making eggs while the coffee's brewing, but thinks better of it quickly. Cooking has never been her strong point. Instead she leans against the counter and burrows further down into the robe while she waits. Jeremy's scent is unmistakable, and she considers stealing it before deciding she likes it better here.

She's settled down in a chair at the table, hot mug warming her two hands, when Jeremy wanders in from the bedroom. He's still half-asleep, hair sticking up charmingly from every part of his head, glasses slightly askew, and he makes a beeline straight for the coffee pot and stands over it, breathing deeply.

Natalie feels a little nervous as she waits, which is stupid, she tells herself, because they worked everything out last night. Even if there wasn't much talking involved. But this is *Jeremy*.

Jeremy, she thinks, and she smiles to herself. He turns toward her with his cup of coffee and he looks stunned and vaguely stupid for a second when he sees her.

"Hey," Natalie says.

Jeremy's face clears into a blinding grin. "Good morning," he says, and she's out of her chair to kiss him before he even finishes.
schmerica: (princess bride)
Dude, this is my third fiction post in two days. I have no clue what's up with that.

Also, someone should apparently take the crack away from me.
