Hmm, you know, most of the time when I'm reading really really good stuff, my reaction is mostly just "Mmmmmm, wow, this is really really good". Only once in a while -- and this is without rhyme or reason that it seems to occur -- my reaction starts going more like "Mmmmmm, wow, this is really really good -- and man, I wish I could write anywhere near this good, but I can't, so I think I will go crawl into a hole and die now of my suckitude." Which is strange and uncomfortable, but as the only way to avoid it is to not read anything good, it must be worth it.

Other things from tonight, besides painfully good fic-reading:

+ Trying, mostly in vain, to explain to [livejournal.com profile] ineke the vast appeal and wonderful hotness of Chris Kirkpatrick

+ Sitting alone in #discourse with [livejournal.com profile] dsudis and brainstorming horrible woobie-riffic Fraser story neither of us is writing

+ Polyamorous Recs update, yay!

+ I love the little tacos Coca-Cola. I love it gooooood..

+ Also, [livejournal.com profile] tstar78 made this icon! She told me she had random pictures to make stuff with, and I was the first person who came to mind for Keira Knightley. I am very very okay with this. Pretty!

New icon, wheeeeeee! Courtesy of the generous and talented [livejournal.com profile] blunaris. And, just -- so pretty!

It's now time, I think, for my first new default icon in six months. I wonder how long it will take me to get used to not seeing that BiLB icon everywhere all the time?

Yeah, so last night? It was just me and [livejournal.com profile] dsudis in discourse. And Dira started pondering whether or not Fraser and Victoria had unprotected sex -- pretty likely, we were thinking -- and then we move on to the possibility of her getting pregnant and having the baby -- which we think really damn remote, but a plot device we have a certain fondness for, anyway. And I think I mentioned that all the stories I'd seen with that have basically been "Surprise! Here is a kid to be thrust into your lap, Fraser!" Which is all well and good (while my kidfic fondness does not approach the mountain of love that is Dira's, it does still exist).

Only, you know, if Victoria *did* pregnant and *did* decide to have the baby -- well, god, that'd be a pretty fucking good weapon, wouldn't it? There's a *lot* of power and control to be gained there.

Yeah, so then Dira and I spent a good long time brainstorming this hypothetical story, which is not being written (plot is hard! too many WIPs!). It's awfully pretty and ouchy to think about, though. (Ray and Fraser could be doing their happily ever after in Canada when it happens!)

I gotta say, though, the King Arthur thing? That was *all her*.
