yay accomplishment

yuletide story is done; now I just have to wait for a) fox1013's seal of approval and b) allowing of uploading and I'll be able to take a deep breath and have it off forever.

I fell asleep about ten or eleven last night, and then woke up again at 12.40 in the morning, fully awake. Then I stayed up until four, writing in one big burst of energy, and collapsed into sleep for real as soon as I completed the story. If I hadn't been so tired, I would have been tempted to stay up, just to catch PBS playing Doctor Zhivago on Masterpiece Theatre. Keira Knightley and revolutionary Russia - what more could a girl want! As it was, I just caught the very beginning as I typed away.

The most interesting revelation of the yuletide writing process was, I think, the discovery I made upon reviewing the canon. Namely, that the pairing I had signed up to write was, really, fundamentally incompatible as a couple in just about every way. This made the writing process that much more interesting.

Doctor's appointment tomorrow, and then clear sailing till Christmas. Yay.
