So the sister and I just finished watching "The Deal" -- her first time, my second or third. And, honestly, if you've ever heard me talk about my general fic-and-episode buttons at all, you will understood why this episode always provokes in me a giant, unspeakable "Mmmmmmm." (I resolve to resist rewatching "Good for the Soul" after dinner. Or rereading [livejournal.com profile] flambeau's The latest party. I stand firm!)

And, of course, this is also the episode that always reminds me "Hey! Vecchio!", which is nice.

Also watched on the sister's urging this week: Hard Core Logo and "Burning Down the House." Seriously, the sister's CKR crush surpasses my own. The main thing about this viewing of HCL is that it confirmed that no matter how many times I see it, I will still react exactly the same to the ending every time. Also, CKR really is amazingly hot in the former -- I'd almost want an icon of him from it, except every single moment of that movie has been weconned eighty million times. On the same note, it's just as well I have a gazillion Fraser icons already, because otherwise I would be severely tempted by scruffy, up-a-telephone-pole Fraser.

[livejournal.com profile] lyra_sena and I were discussing the pilot last night, and we both had to swoon a little at the memory of Fraser with the gun and the cursing and -- yeah. And then that led to MotB swooning through association. And then we were trying to think if there were any more episodes featuring the combination "Fraser + gun", but we couldn't think of any. An appeal to #discourse came up with Ray's gun in the fissure in CotW, though.

(My computer shipped today! And my mother made my most favorite potato pancakes for dinner! And Nifra is still writing the monstrosity! Oh, today is verily a day of squee.)

He had a gun in - I think it was "The Wild Bunch"? There's one where he was preparing to shoot Dief because they thought he was dangerous. Not neeearly so hot as the MOTB one, though. Mmm.

And eeee, the Deal. One of the first ones I ever saw, and definitely the one that made me a Vecchio fan.

Wild Bunch! Yes! Thank you!

You know, sadly, I was having a conversation with someone about that episode earlier today and mentioning that very incident, and still didn't manage to make that connection.

Oh, "The Deal". *guh* That is my all-time favorite dramatic episode in the series. I just...::flail::

Love Vecchio. *Love* him. Plus all the good Frannie stuff, especially the fallout from it in "Heaven and Earth".

But RayV at the end of "The Deal", locking the gym door...never. been. sexier.

Guh.

I think when I was first going through s1, this was the episode that really made me start to appreciate RayV, actually.

Which reminds me that I still have my s2 tapes to get through before school starts. Hmm.
