I'm not quite sure why this amuses me so much. It might be the fact that when I was a kid I was convinced I was going to be a brilliant prodigy published at a precocious age. It might be the cheesiness of the description. Or it might just be that all the reviews basically say "Well, uh ... it reads like it was written by a 13 year old, frankly."
In other news, I find the one really annoying thing about my family being away is I can't get to the library this way. My library card doesn't work here anymore, so I need to borrow my sisters, and I don't feel like juggling a huge bag of books on the bus.
I was rereading The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay earlier this week, but my reading started to slow to a crawl as I realized that, much as I adore it, I really wasn't in the mood to hit all the painful parts again. I did promise Nifra I'd reread the Sandman collections this week, though, so maybe I'll start on those if I can't find anything new. (I'm resisting the very strong temptation of amazon.com, because I already spent enough splurge money this week.)
Hmm, now back to thinking about dinner.
