schmericaWow, I hadn't realized I still had quite so many Smallville fans on my friends list.
My WEEK OF LEISURE is coming to a close more rapidly than I would have liked. Yesterday I did, however, get to spend some quality time with the lovely Mme![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
liviapenn, which was nice; we watched Invader Zim and Firefly dvds in her apartment and then went out to see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. I must say, that was one damn pretty movie. It also adds on to The Royal Tenenbaums in the evidence against my conviction that I don't like Gwyneth Paltrow. I thought the movie started out rather slow -- there were times in the beginning where I was like "...I like various things about this, but it would make a much better book than a movie" -- but by about the halfway point I had gotten fully into it. Nepal! Shangri-la! Explosions! Dinosaurs! Rocket ships! Not to mention the cuteness of Joe/Polly. Seriously, lots of things to love there.
(At her apartment Livia and I also determined that it was a nicely slutty movie, too, as we could see post-movie fics featuring basically any pairing or threesome out of Joe, Polly, Franky and Dex. Joe/Polly/Franky and Joe/Polly/Dex are right there, of course. And then Joe and Polly are probably going to have a massive fight and go off and console themselves soon, anyway -- which you can play for slash or het or both, nicely enough.
For some reason we also decided that the style to write the fic in would have to be nicely pulpy and appropriate, and porn would have to just be demonstread by a row of asterisks between lines. Which led to amusement with the "page of asterisks PWP!" and the "row of asterisk - one line of dialogue - row of asterisk - one line of dialogue" story structure.")
And, hmm, registered at the Escapade website this morning and sent in my payment, crossing my fingers about making it there in February. Now that I've gone over everything again, I have higher hopes, but it's still a while away, so.
Two more days till school! My excitement is starting to be slightly tempered by the knowledge of all the annoyances that have to happen before I am actually comfortably settled in and happy, but that's all right. Classes on Monday, whee!
