schmerica: (sleater-kinney)

The heading is, of course, courtesy of the Mean Girls soundtrack song [livejournal.com profile] fox1013 sent me the other day. I have decided this soundtrack should now be the source of all my insults ever.

Sigh. I have a very bad feeling that -- despite my repeated requests -- my sister is going to end up getting rid of all the music on my old computer in her attempt to fix it up again, rather than actually sending it to me. If my anticipation here comes true, I will be very very bitter. I WANT MY MUSIC. GAR.

Songs I am missing especially strongly the last couple weeks:

Sarge - Fast Girls
Sarge - I Took You Driving

Aimee Mann - Save Me
OK GO - You're So Damn Hot

Sleater-KInney - Fortunate Son

I did manage to figure out one of the two unidentified songs that had been stuck in my head, due to listening to the radio lots during the summer for the first time in years. The song that I could only remember that the first line involved glove compartments being inaccurately named turned out to be Death Cab for Cutie. I still haven't identified the cover of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" featuring the really sweet-sounding highpitched girl singer.

This song makes me want to rewatch But I'm a Cheerleader. Sigh. Although that reminds me that upon reading this month's Spin magazine, I was surprised to come across the little article about the Comas, which apparently is Michelle Williams' ex-boyfriend's band. They had a whole little thing about how their new album was inspired by the heartbreak of their split or something. I told [livejournal.com profile] fox1013 about this, and we both had the same immediate reaction. Namely: "Michelle Williams dates boys?"

Time to study for Russian quiz.
