Stealing this icon meme from [livejournal.com profile] musesfool:

The avatar is like a Rorschach inkblot, or the Draw-a-House/Person/Tree Test, or any work of art. It is selected from personal imagination. Consciously or unconsciously, people condense a multitude of meaning into it. They project their personality into it - who they are, who they wish to be, what they fear, what moves them.

Choose one of your icons, and post it up in your journal. Then ask people to comment with the first thing that comes to mind when they see that icon -- whether it's associated with the image, the text, or with the identity/mood they project on you when you're using it, whatever. Free association. See if anything fits.

I can't figure out who that is, except that it looks rather like Katharine Hepburn in drag to me, and that coupled with the female name on the icon just sends me down a wacky path of... wackiness. *g*

Okay, this is just weird but, um, randomly associating, right? It makes me think of Little House on the Prairie. I think it's the grainy black and white (even though LHotP wasn't, was it?), and the youthful, earnest, far-away expression.

It makes me think that RayK should hurry and mess up his hair. He looks far too neat and self-contained and also sad. And in need of RayK kissage.

That is one determined jaw line. He could make terse declarations of love in a gin joint with that jaw.

I always associate that icon with you, actually, as is the case with most people's icons; I see them, and think "Oooh, ( so-and-so )," and thus it always throws me off a bit when people get new icons.

But. Hum. Other than that, old black-and-white western films (for reasons beyond my comprehension.)

Out of curiosity, do I have any Fraser icons that don't make you think that? Or any icons at all, for that matter?

Yes. The boot icon makes me think: "Fuck! I never wrote that fucking porn yet! Fucking fuck!"

You too? I took a look and dropped it straight into the Katherine Hepburn category. It's the jaw. I'm sure of it.

Awwwwwww. That's, like, the story of Fraser's life. Yay for RayK kissage.

Oh, yeah, I do the same thing, mostly. Which makes this exercise a little difficult.

But westerns, hmm. That's interesting. *tilts head*

...That *is* weird. *grin* Actually, I've never seen Little House on the Prairie, though.

*nod* Everytime I look at the icon closely, I seem to read Fraser's expression differently. It keeps changing for me.
