It is Thanksgiving. In my house it is the quiet calm bit before the craziness; my mother and grandmother are out buying a tablecloth. Soon they will be home, and at ten they'll wake up my sister and the two of us will be put to work. My grandfather and dad should get home from checking their traps in a few hours, and my brother, his girlfriend, and his girlfriend's kid are coming at one. We'll eat early (turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, broccoli with cheese sauce, biscuits, obscene amounts of pie) and then everyone will seperate and take naps or read or sit around doing our own things. At some point we will come together again for the ritual watching of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. (I'm not sure what exactly prompted that as the annual Thankgiving movie with my parents, lo these many years ago. But you can't argue with tradition.)

I hope to get more writing done today, and more of my reviewing-of-yuletide-canon. I'm taking notes and everything! It's very exciting. Hmm, maybe I'll even start thinking of my dS seekrit santa. All these deadlines are starting to approach.

Images in my head:

+ The much-beloved porn from [livejournal.com profile] _aerye_'s comments
+ Fraser and Ray teaching their daughter how to shoot, in my kidfic universe
+ [livejournal.com profile] estrella30 and I were looking at this screencap yesterday and, between our drooling (the *mouth*, the *eyes*, the *stubble*), imagining Fraser and Ray to be tied up and bound together, uncomfortably on their sides, facing each other. Fraser is not the sort to be distracted from the task at hand; he'd be busy getting them out of their confines. Any hanky-panky would have to come much later, once they're out and the day has been saved.
+ Post-CotW, where they're up in Canada, and Ray is just watching Fraser, all scruffy and hard-working and flushed with happiness; Ray's never seen Fraser quite like that before.
+ While I think Fraser as a father would have some ... issues, I do think he would be an extraordinarily good uncle, godfather, that sort of thing. "Bounty Hunter" is a relatively bad example, but the way he interacts with children and teenagers in the first few seasons make me kind of full of love. Actually, the way he interacts with Bruce in "I Coulda Been a Defendent" is somewhat similar.
+ It might have been the cliche list, but RayK/GermanPaulGross is in my head again. Heh, pumpkin.

Happy Thanksgiving for all of you who are celebrating today. If I am to count the things I am thnkaful for, I can't imagine not including fandom and the people in it.

I love this universe and pretty much adore anything you write in it, so yay!

Yes! God, want this to be written so badly.

*snugs* The thing about the RayK/GermanPG one is I like the idea, but I don't really have a starting point or a scene in my head yet. I need to have one of those come to me, or I don't think I'll ever start.

That was actually one of the things I was thinking of for the original story. Except, you know, I know less than nothing about guns -- I'm not sure I've ever even held one -- so I don't think I could make it even vaguely what I want it to be.

*grins* See, I'd love to read this, but I'm not sure I really *need* it, the way I do some of the others. It's just so pretty and perfect even on its own.

i'm a lonesome polecat.
