um, more books
11/12/04 14:49Continuing with my literary theme -- yesterday after
dsudis and I had both done this meme thing, I was reading hers and might have done a little squee over her inclusion of Connie Willis, who is possibly my favorite author, and if not, is definitely in the top three or so. Anyway, as we started our nice fannish discussion of her, it was eventually revealed that Dira and I have very different primary associations with her work. Basically, Dira thinks of her stuff and goes "ANGST!!!" and I think about her stuff and go "Screwball comedy, WHEE!"
I'm not sure if this tells you more about the range of her talent or about the difference between Dira and me.
Also, after that I started trying to get
fox1013 to read her and adore her. Connie Willis, quite helpfully, has a whole book out devoted to Christmas stories. I figure it's best to go straight for Fox's weak spot.

3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the "coolest" book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

Here is a table summarizing the endings of the ешъ/ёшъ conjugation; the -ё- variations occur when the ending is stressed.
