The Shakespeare meme reminds me that another one of the movies I watched during my internetless days was Richard III. Um. It was very very very pretty. That's about all I have to say about it. Well, that and it seems to prove that it's basically impossible for Sir Ian McKellen to ever not be hot.

Also on the subject of the Bard -- has anyone else read History Play? I can't decide whether I think it's a really fascinating pastiche or more of a one-note joke.

I simultaneously love and am horrified by that production of RIII. The totalitarianist overtones are really eerie and yet utterly appropriate to the mood of the play and then there's the bit with the fly and *thinks* was it Anne Neville?

Infinitely more thought provoking than 'Looking for Richard.' That one lost me when Pacino failed to get that Richard was Gloucester -- which began with 'G.' *headdesk*
