God, yes, I love (most) of that movie. The kiss at the airport - GUUUHHHH. Spence is the sexiest boy ever in that movie, made even the more adorable for being dorky and sweet and snarky. And Lady Eve would make the most fabulous dS AU!

And *headdesks* now I've got a John/Rodney vision of that scene in my head. Shit, shit, shit.

I want all fanfics to be "Gilda". Because Rita Hayworth *is* Alex Krycek + Benton Fraser + Methos, all rolled into one. And that cigarette-lighting scene is the freakin' slashiest thing I've ever seen in my life, even if it is actually het.

Also, when I was rewatching the Lady Eve a couple of weeks ago, I had a whole post about how absolutely perfect the first half of it was for a dS AU. Oh, man, the scene in the dining room on the ship, where Barbara Stanwyck is watching Henry Fonda through her compact mirror, and making snarky comments about how he's ignoring all the girls? SO RIGHT.

Actually, the shoe scene there is another really good example of the unexpected hotness. Also the scene where she's pressing their faces together and ruffling his hair.
