Sleep? During finals week? NO. Instead I will stay up to the wee hours of the morning watching more of the first season of Arrested Development!

Notes on "In God We Trust":

+ OMG THE TWINCEST. SO VERY VERY MUCH TWINCEST. With the DRUNK. EEEEEEEEEEE.
+ Portugal is in South America!
+ Nevernude! "There are dozens of us! DOZENS."
+ "THERE IS NO GOD."
+ Hahahahaha, Henry Winkler.
+ Maeby and Lucille would be the most unholy alliance ever. I approve!
+ ANGRY NAP = the best phrase ever.

Notes on "My Mother the Car":

+ "You're my third-least-favorite child." "I can live with that."
+ A Bluth family celebration is no place for children.
+ DANGEROUS COUSINS.
+ "Is it okay if I do it for Mom, and not you?"
+ Are these episodes in, like, random order? The progression of Buster's relationship with Lucille Austero is confusing me.
+ "Preferably French. I like the way they think."
+ "Dad finally paid attention to my intellect!"
+ "We're brothers! We kind of like each other!"

Notes on "Storming the Castle:

+ Oh, MAN. People falling backwards in chairs is always AWESOME. Comic gold!
+ "So I'm thinking of getting a motorcycle!"
+ "If you care about your brother, you'll get in this car." "...Which brother?"
+ "Mom, I think you might be overreacting." "She changed him as a baby!" "Okay, that's, that's about the creepiest thing I ever heard."
+ The Alliance of Magician sign changing of "We Demand to Be Taken Seriously" to "We Demand to Be Taken Really Seriously."
+ Hahaha, the false feeling of superiority is way nice.
+ Ahahahahaha, George Michael has beautiful womanly legs.

Notes on "Pier Pressure":

+ OMG, George Senior's elaborate lesson. AWESOME.
+ "I don't criticize you! And sometimes, if you're worried about criticism, a diet is the best defense."
+ HI KOVSKY'S ICON!
+ "You are now punished! I punish thee!"
+ OMG. George Michael is the toughest streetwise kid I know, too!
+ OMG, he left a note! Ahahaha.
+ MORE LESSONS FROM GEORGE SENIOR. AWESOME.
+ "He's dead, you killed him when you left the door open with the refrigerator running."
+ Maeby's note!
+ He was going to smoke the marijuana like a cigarette!
+ "Why are YOU hitting yourself?!?!"
+ "And that's why you don't teach lessons to your son."
+ "One of the hot cops is my choir teacher."

Notes on "Public Relations":

+ Hahahahahahaha, Tobias calling George Michael a kiss-ass.
+ "I thought you meant like a plumber or something and I was like, when did THAT happen?"
+ DUDE, that publicist is totally Janet from DEBS! Maybe this is a sekrit spy mission.
+ Heee, Buster hiding behind the walls.
+ "So when those guys kept saying 'hey, you, boy', that was me? I was the boy?"
+ "I was just saying your name as you were walking away. I had no follow-up."
+ Hahahahaha, George Michael has RUINED his father's chance at happiness! "Jessie had gone too far, and she had best watch her mouth."
+ Michael's romantic interest reminds Maeby of Lindsay! HA.
+ omg, the Bluth women are SCARY.
+ hahahaha, George Michael is mocking Michael's sex life.

"Pier Pressure" is one of my favorite episodes of television EVER.

"You taught us a lesson not to teach lessons?"
"Last lesson!"

"All right, George-Michael...let's DEAL SOME DRUGS."

One of my favorite things about it (aside from the HILARITY) is that apparently it came about when the execs at FOX sent the writers a memo saying that, to improve the family palatability of the show, "Michael should teach his son a nice lesson". HEE.

"Michaaaaael! I'm on to you! If you're heading for Portugal it's due south!"

God, I love that show.

I think FOX had a thing where they weren't allowed to refer to marijuana in any way other than being smoked like a cigarette, hence all the "I'm going to smoke the marijuana like a cigarette" stuff. And another commenter beat me to saying the bit about the lessons also being a FOX thing.

My favorite line from "Storming the Castle", when Michael is telling Lucille about the guy threatening to take GOB's legs, she says "at least he's already got that little scooter!" with such glee.

Just wait for "Beef Consomme". It's hysterically funny and SO SWEET at the same time.

Oh, God, "Pier Pressure." I love that episode SO MUCH. "They're not going to strip are they?" And then Gob goes, "I told them not to, but I can't promise that their instincts won't kick in."

The "Jessie had gone too far" line is especially funny because it came after she called George Michael "Opie." Hee.

Heeeeeee, yes. That was a brilliant moment, and totally cracked me up.

I think FOX had a thing where they weren't allowed to refer to marijuana in any way other than being smoked like a cigarette, hence all the "I'm going to smoke the marijuana like a cigarette" stuff. And another commenter beat me to saying the bit about the lessons also being a FOX thing.

Heeeee. Mocking your network = GOOD TELEVISION.

I'm kind of astonished at how much brilliance is here! I mean, sure, my flist talked about it being awesome all the time, but they do that about boring stuff, too! How was I to know the difference?
