It just sunk in to me that since my parents' dsl is in the library, and the TV is in the living room -- the total opposite side of the house -- tonight is going to be the first time EVER that I watch Grey's Anatomy without having fox1013 on instant messenger with me for constant discussion and analyzation at the exact same time.

THAT IS SO NOT COOL, PEOPLE. SERIOUSLY.

On a totally unrelated note: I've heard Dorothy Dunnett praised to the skies eight million times, so I just picked up one of her books to try for the first time. So I'm about sixty pages into The Game of Kings now, and my question is this: when does it stop being so boring? Is it soon? I hope it's soon.

Edited an hour later: Wow, I TOTALLY just used the word "analyzation" in that first paragraph. Um, hi! I'm smart! Really! I go to college and everything!

Dorothy Dunnett nevers stops being boring. The Kind Hereafter is the only book of hers I ever found readable. Many of my friends (whose opinions I respect) love her, but I just can't get through a single book (yeah, I didn't even finish The Kind Hereafter).

I had a boss who forced me to read Dunnett, and it was several books in (maybe the third?) before I really got into it, but I thought it totally paid off eventually. I spent most of the first book just figuring out the history and politics and alliances. They also worked better for me in several-hour chunks, instead of 30-minute-commute nibbles.
