There is nothing like your parents forcing you to paint and primer duty to make those gorgeous ten foot ceilings slightly less appealing. I'm just saying.

I finished my first Marcus Didius Falco mystery last night. It's the eighth in the series, which is normally something I would avoid at all costs, but at least with mysteries the self-contained plots make it slightly less of an issue. Also, it was the only one they had at the cheap paperback book place when my mom was buying me books on Saturday, and I remembered the author name from LJ recs -- which turned out to be justified in this case, yay! I also have seven other cheap paperbacks to get through; we'll see how much reading I get done before I go back to school. (No classes = more reading, except the sister's constant attention needing reduces the time again.)

Also bought for me this week by my mother: two new shirts, one new skirts, one new bra, and a ton of new underwear. Awesome new free stuff SO more than makes up for the kitchen work. Even if I am covered with primer.

Aren't those mysteries great? I have read most of the series, just missing some of the later ones.

DAMMIT, now I'm wondering if there's Falco/Petro fic out there. *curses brain*

I've read all of the Falco books, they are all quite brilliant.

I have photographic proof that my parents (father especially) had his two children assisting on such house projects since we were in grade school. Even younger- my sister has a pacifier in one such pic as we are slapping paint on various surfaces as per instructions. This year's paint project? The garage.
