first batch
1/9/06 23:04First three of the 5 Things lists! More will have to wait until I get home tomorrow from my exciting afternoon of apartment hunting, I'm afraid.
Five of Frannie's favorite fantasies
1. Frannie hasn't thought about this one in forever, but when she was little, the nights when Pop would come home late and she couldn't sleep because of the yelling and smashing going on downstairs, she'd curl up in bed and shut her eyes and think about how, probably, she was secretly a princess, and her real family would come and get her soon, and everything would be perfect. Sometimes, like when Maria let her crawl into her bed with her across the room or when Ray would just buy her a candy bar or something for no reason, she'd think maybe they could come along, too. But most of the time it was just her, secretly special.
2. She's had 30 years to plan her wedding, so it's pretty much down to the details now. The big fluffy gown and the handsome groom and the church full of people are all fixed in stone, but she goes back and forth on the flavor of the cake and the shade of pink for the bridesmaid dresses.
3. She goes into work one day and it turns out there's, like, a surprise party for her. Fraser's there, and Harding, and both her brother Rays, and even her Ma has realized just how much Frannie does. Not for any reason. Just to show how much everyone appreciates everything she does and how much they respect her.
4. Her and Ray came really close once, so maybe it'll never happen again -- but what if she really did hit the jackpot? She could have everything she ever wanted.
5. Okay, you've read Sword of Desire, right? You know that great part right after they get eloped and run away from her father? When they stop on the moor? It's just like that, only Frannie instead of Esmerelda and Fraser instead of Lord William and also no thunderstorm, because the rain makes Frannie's hair frizz like crazy.
Five ways George and Izzie get together.
1. When she got home from the hospital the day after the big party, Meredith was passed out on the floor but George was still conscious and sitting on the couch. She came in and sat on his feet and told him how she and the hockey player had broken up and how he didn't get it. George got it.
2. When George moved into Burke's place, Izzie came over one evening and refused to leave from the hallway until George came and talked to her and worked everything out. They ended up yelling at each other really loudly, even though it wasn't each other they were really mad at, but George doesn't know which of them was more surprised when they kissed.
3. George drove her home after the prom and he put her to bed and got her some tea and then he lay down with her and held her while she cried some more. When she stopped crying she kissed his cheek and told him he was a good guy, and George realized he was the dumbest guy alive because he'd fallen in love with another one. Only this time he was smart enough to try and wait until her heart wasn't still broken.
4. George had finished a 36 hour shift and he got home at 8 in the morning and Izzie was sitting in the kitchen eating ice cream out of the carton and reading the paper, and he sat down next to her and she handed the spoon over to him without saying a word.
5. Izzie said, "I haven't had sex in a year, George."
George said, "Uh..."
Izzie smiled at him and George was doomed.
Five things that Duck thinks but would never say to anyone.
1. He still misses alcohol sometimes, but not as much as he misses the feeling of living without caring about the consequences.
2. He doesn't think he'll ever forgive Carol French for what she did.
3. The sex with Dan ranges from okay to not really very good at all. He doesn't mind.
4. Most people are mostly full of shit; their problems aren't nearly as important as they think they are.
5. I love you more than life, more than air, more than anything. My whole life was waiting for this. Don't hurt me. Don't ever leave.
