Since Friday afternoon, I have consumed the first 20 episodes of How I Met Your Mother. Result: I'm sort of love it, you guys. This is the first show I have ever seen where the characters make just as liberal a use of the word AWESOME as me and the people I know! That alone is worth many many many points. Plus, Willow and Nick Andopolis (aka that redheaded girl and the tall guy) keep making out adorably.

Notable guest stars so far include Neil and Bill from F+G (Freaks and Geek mafia, woo!), Mr. Aly Hannigan (Alexis Denisof), and the chick who played Charlie on Ugly Betty and Heroes, who looked really cute.

[livejournal.com profile] speshope drove me around Springfield and Eugene today so I could pick up my sociolinguistics final and some juice with insane amounts of vitamin C. Spes is awesome. And then we went to her house and watched a movie while I poked at her cat.

Next up in my exciting day: 45 minutes of YARDWORK with MY ROOMMATES! You guys, it was like a party. A really dirty party held outdoors that required a great deal of weeding and dirt and sweat and squatting.

Studying for my 8 am Monday phonetics exam! Possibly watching more of How I Met Your Mother. And ... maybe another shower, because see above re: sweat and dirt.

I got this new icon from [livejournal.com profile] poisoninjest. Cadbury Creme Eggs are my favorite seasonal treat! And as I commented to her, I think this icon has serious layers -- one tiny little square of candy and it somehow manages to be delicious, a little disgusting, and vaguely unsettling! Hard-working, man.

eeeee, yay! I LOVE How I Met Your Mother! It seriously just keeps getting better! There have been a couple of stand-out, laugh-out-loud funny episodes this season and just - YAY! so pleased!

mmm, cadbury cream eggs. I haven't had one yet this year - I think I must remedy that tomorrow (though your icon is sort of oogey more than anything else).

OOGEY YET STRANGELY COMPELLING, I THINK YOU MEANT TO SAY.

I am seriously very impressed with HIMYM! I am glad I finally listened to Fox and Kovsky and Spes that it was really good and not just a crappy sitcom like it looked.

YAY HIMYM.

And, you know how awesome season one is?

Season two is EVEN MORE AWESOME.

I'm not even kidding. IT WILL MAKE YOU SO HAPPY.

Because it makes me happy.

OMG, now if I make you watch HIMYM with me (in TWO WEEKS OMG), you will not hate me! I can save all the hate for Big Brother!

Wheeeeee!

Easter candy is goodness! though I tend to prefer the caramel Cadburys - nummy, rich and slightly less oogy to look at when it oozes (as they will)

Knowing my stance on Cadbury Creme Eggs, I am sure you know that I only find your icon to be the last two descriptors of your assessment.

I kind of keep expecting an alien to emerge from it.

Ok, HIMYM is freaking incredible. My roommates and I went through the entire run of the show in less than a week, and have since allowed it so shape our lives, including creating our own weekly game nights and randomly yelling out legendary and lawyered at a moment's notice.

There was another Heroes person on just now! Ted's mom is the same as Peter and Nathan Petrelli's mom.

wow. another heroes person, and the orthodontist (i'm a week behind, at the moment, well, half of a week :D)? totally on the class which is also new this season.

good work, ugly betty.

but the social worker plotline (and a similar fatphobic plotline on the class)? not so cool.

I'm really hating the case worker storyline, too. Like, um, hi, why is the show encouraging us to do the exact same thing to her that it makes fun of everyone else for doing to Betty?

HIMYM!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I just made a post with that subject line like...a week ago? Anyway, I got v. confused and was all "wait...this isn't my journal. What is going ON?!"

We mainlined the first season in something like three days, for REAL. I adore that show, although I haven't seen any of s.2 yet (and I need to figure out *how* since I don't know what the repeat schedule is like) and oh! It's so adorable! I love how everyone reacts to each other and laughs when someone tells a joke or at least smirks at Barney.

afhokda;fd I love that you love that show. And why for the love of god don't I have an icon of the free-frame Robin/Barney high five yet?!

Phone five!

Haha, okay, your sudden watching everything I love is now beginning to FREAK ME OUT. ISN'T IT GOOD THOUGH?

Hahahaha, it is my first step in recreating myself as a KOVSKY CLONE and taking over your life!!!

I don't think my evil plot is going to work, though, because I totally can't commit to Law and Order SVU. Or, uh, Babylon, I guess.

So what ELSE have I been missing that I need to get into already? (Oooh, if YOU got into Farscape, we could be like twins! Hasn't m pimped that to you yet?)

I am very unoriginal in my subject line posts! I apologize!

I totally finished up the first season last night right after I made this post, so, yeah, three days was totally it! It's like candy, only without the horrible stomachache at the end.

I already started on s2, too, through my secret evil torrenting means.

Oh, no, don't be sorry! The show is so frikkin' quote-able -- I was mostly confused because I'd just gotten into the show a week or so ago, so it was more the timing than anything else. :)

I need to torrent the show, I really do. I'm halfway through disc 2 of s.1 on rewatch and it's just not giving me the fix I need. So, it's like candy, with heroin in the middle?

(i am watching charmed, but they don't do very well with guest stars, except cordelia plays a... seer. which doesn't seem... any different than cordelia?)
