FIRST. I got a job! Seasonal support at Macy's. Only like ten hours a week through the first week of January, but some money is better than no money.

SECOND. Frankie Iero's birthday = friends list filled with glorious picspam!

THIRD. I always used to make faces at all the people who would complain about having too much fic to read and be like "yeah, I wish I had your problems!" And now I do. It's kind of awesome. So much stuff!

FOURTH. Still thinking about OTPs in bandom. My OTPs in former fandoms (Clark/Lex, Fraser/Kowalski, John/Aeryn) all kind of fit together in the way where they are MEANT TO BE OMG, they BELONG TOGETHER, these two people are SO OBVIOUSLY the most important people in each other's lives, the most important relationship they will EVER have. And you guys, if I look in bandom? The obvious candidates to take on that role for me is so Pete/Patrick. It just is. They fit my classic OTP profile perfectly.

And yet! I mean, I love them, I do, and I enjoy reading about them and all, and they belong together. So they're my OTP in that sense, but ... not so much in the sense of the pairing that eats my brain and fascinates me and I want to know MORE and read about it all the time and graaaaar. Because that does seem to be Pete/Mikey, even if I can't figure out why. PETE WENTZ! MIKEYWAY! SWEET LITTLE DUDES! Nawwwwww.

FIFTH. The thing I forgot about RPF fandoms is just how much there is out there. I don't know if I'll ever feel comfortable writing non-AU bandom fic, no matter what, just because even the more I learn, the more stuff there is that I can't get a hold of. Infinite canon = awesome for experiencing, stressful for writing.

SIXTH. That five things lists meme. Hit me. I'll see what I can do.

SEVENTH. It's Halloween. YAY CANDY.

Infinite canon can definitely be an issue. I'm trying to do a wee bit of research for this fic I'm writing and really, no one will care about these details, because none of us know the answer.

And yet, how is it possible the answer isn't out there somewhere? I get caught in a vicious circle of digging deeper and deeper and not writing.

I actually have a problem with OTPing Pete/Patrick myself kinda for the fact I think they're too BFF to be more. Cause it's like, I love my bestest friend in the world Alma A TON and I say she's married to me practically.

But. Dating her. Ew. :| You know?

That's how Pete and Patrick are in my head.

THAT IS WHY YOU NEED TO TALK TO ME ABOUT BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND PATTI SCIALFA (http://i21.tinypic.com/5voysl.png) AND THEIR PERFECT (http://i21.tinypic.com/302osic.jpg) SEXY (http://i11.tinypic.com/62qvg9w.jpg) LOVE (http://i5.tinypic.com/4q6bzet.png).

Although, weirdly? I have all sorts of weird qualifications for (hypothetical, because there is no actual fic, or else it is terrible terrible stuff from backstreets.com) fic, like it would have to be a crossover with a fictional universe, or an AU where they're all in the Firefly 'verse and Patti joins their smuggling crew as the new navigator. Because it's, I don't know, the downside of your bandom OTP being canon is apparently that writing fic about them feels weirdly stalkerish, and you just want to sit there and go "YAY!" about them all the time. Of course, it doesn't help that I'm crazy.

...and I, um, really want to read that Firefly fic now. Shit.

HI! I'm bored at work and trying to stay awake, and I can't use IM and harass you that way. :(

Please tell me more about your bandom OTPs! I know next to nothing about them, but I like hearing about them because you are fun to squee with. I kind of know the first names of some of the guys, but I'm not really sure what bands they belong to or anything.

I adore doing research, which is probably why I love love LOVE RPS fandoms. Because there's so much! There are so many ways to place it in reality, to check in with the real people, to make it grounded in something.

I LOVE it.

I feel like I require, like, an entire room or large closet to just draw a giant timeline on. With footnotes. And possibly appendices. You know?

Hee, I totally get that! I can actually go back and forth on Pete/Patrick -- I see both the OTPness *and* theirloveissopure!!! platonic perfectness of love. It's like the illusion with the two faces and the vase.

I just have these weird issues of wanting to know EVERYTHING before I can get a handle on anything, you know? When I was getting into due South, episodes were still kind of hard to get a hold of, but I was horrified with myself when I starting writing fic before I had seen each and every single episode.

OH YES. I know. I spent ... hours? Days? A really long time researching the hardcore/sxe scene(s) in Chicago in 2000-2004 for a part of a fic that was MAYBE 500 words long in a 9000 word story. So far.

I'm all about the background research. I think that's why I find the RPS satisfying. And when people say "No, actually, Bob was in Flordia at that time, see (obscure article that isn't even google-able)" ... I kind of love it!

Aw, I totally get that. It's that little perfect burst of satisfaction when something falls right into place! The same reason I like doing dorky logic problems and crossword puzzles.
