5 things I enjoyed about Friday's Child:
1) Possibly my favorite alien clothes choices of all time
2) Julie Newmar being fabulous
3) This face of Spock's. (I spent way too long trying to make that into an icon last night, but I couldn't get it right, sigh.)
4) Spock and Kirk making bows and arrows!
5) Not actually in the episode, but the info about the baby's later life, according to the novels is supercool.
A Taste of Armageddon
I am struggling to think of anything I liked about this episode. On the other hand, it is hard to think of anything I dislike about it either.
Um, Kirk was an extra ruthless bastard, that was awesome. Spock had a couple nice lines of dialogue - first distracting the guy for the nerve pinch by
telling him he had a multi-legged creature on this shoulder, and then at the end saying Kirk almost makes him believe in luck. Also a bunch of stuff
caught on fire and/or blew up! That's always good.
Yeah, I don't know.
Miri
JAMES TIBERIUS KIRK, THAT IS NOT APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR WITH A YOUNG GIRL. OH MY GOD. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, MAN? DDD:
(Amy got my reactions as I was watching. She laughed at my pain the whole time.)
That was about 90% of my reaction to this episode, ngl. But there's also a part where they're all talking about the disease and Spock is talking about
how he doesn't have the disease, but he's a carrier, so he can't go back to the ship -- "And I do want to go back to the ship ... Captain." And
Kirk responds, "Of course, Mr. Spock." This doesn't sound very interesting written out like this, but they're exchaning these long meaningful glances and
smoldering at each other and seriously, what the fuck, you two? Get a room.
I still don't like Yeoman Rand. I wish I did. :(
Finally, I have no idea why this planet needed to be an exact physical duplicate of Earth.

2/7/09 19:44 (UTC)That is one of the gayer K/S exchanges, to me. Kirk's just cranking up the flirting to 11. I'm like, "okay, NO ONE talks to their friends like that."

ETA:Wait, no, I'm getting my episodes mixed up. NEVER MIND.
