I have now watched every single episode of Star Trek: the Original Series. That's all there is! There isn't any more!

I saved Spock's Brain for last, because I had heard from so many different sources that it was the worst episode of the entire series, but really? I don't think that was justified. I mean, it's not a good episode, but I certainly enjoyed it more than some of the others. If nothing else, I enjoyed it more than I did "The Way to Eden" (aka, the space hippies). Or "Assignment Earth" for that matter, although that one just pissed me off because it was so obviously a backdoor pilot that it wasn't really a Star Trek story at all; the crew could have been written out without really affecting anything.

"The Empath" produced these screencaps:

This one makes me think of [livejournal.com profile] ix_tab's Kirk icon with bondage playtime.

Disco fun time! :D Or possibly beatnik poetry, I'm not sure.

What I liked about Court-Martial was yet another one of Kirk's "old friends" whom he seems to run into on a regular basis all over the galaxy. Bones, upon meeting her: "All of my old friends look like doctors. All of his old friends look like you." ♥ Although that chick seriously needed a legal ethics class, y/n? (The other thing I liked about that episode was eating up the Kirk backstory, just like I did with Obsession. KIRK ILU.)

The Wolf in the Fold was kind of lame but not offensively so. The teaser at the beginning is possibly right up there with Janice Reed's rape interrogation with the most ridiculously 60s sexist Star Trek gets, I think. But the part where they inject the Jack-the-Ripper-fear-eater dude with the drugs and take him to the transporter, and all the while he's still talking, high and cheerful, "Kill! Kill! You're all going to die! :D!" is comic GENIUS.

One of these days I need to sit down and read all of the Kirk/Spock in the universe, but I can't face the weeding-through process to get to the stuff that will fulfill my OTP needs. Especially since I don't know how to explain what I want for them except through flaily hand gestures, and they don't translate well through the internet.

In non-trek news, I need more Ray Toro porn. SIGH.

If ever a truer statement has been uttered, I have not heard it.

Now you can move on to the Trek novels.

Also, space hippies are AWESOME.

Oh man, I forgot all about the Trek novels - thank you for reminding me! I don't think I've read any except How Much For Just the Planet, so that's lots to look forward to.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, Ray Toro.

I'm sorry. I'd say something about all the trek content... but you ended with Toro. You can't expect me to think about anything else.

In addition to that, are you aware that whatsisface dude, the guy who the Jack-the-Ripper energy being is inhabiting for most of the episode, is the original voice of Piglet?

Try to get that image out of your brain.

I was just going to mention that!

I saw him once at a convention. He segued from "Die, die, everybody die!" right into "P-p-p-p-pooh!" for a truly surreal moment.

Oh man, I totally noticed that while I was watching the episode and then forgot. But yeah, that made it even better.

I can't imagine a time when someone would need less Ray Toro porn.
