Pete wakes up to bright sun, warm skin, the dusty cling of cigarettes in his hair. He grins sleepily at the curve of Mikey's shoulder, the rise and fall of it with Mikey's breathing. Snoring a little, and Pete tucks his knees in closer behind Mikey's, nosing at the sleep-sweaty nape of Mikey’s neck.

They don't quite fit together this way--Mikey's legs are too long, Pete's are too short--but sometimes Pete just wants to be the big spoon, and sometimes Mikey needs to be the little one. Last night was a little of both.
