Last night's Vampire Diaries was really astonishingly good! I've had mixed feelings about this season - I thought it started out strong, but kind of bogged down for a bit after "Masquerade". But the last couple episodes have been on again, and last night's was AWESOME, definitely back up to the quality of late season 1.

The best part of this episode was, of course, &LEXI;! I'm a sucker for any flashback episodes, always have been, so I would have those parts even if Lexi didn't take it over the top of greatness. Stefan begging Damon to stay! Damon being all stiff and disapproving! :D

The whole main plot was hilarious just because it proved YET AGAIN that Elena is smarter than Stefan and Damon combined. The first time she said something and Stefan was all like "...brb, need to make a call D:" was fun; the second time, with the dagger, was HILARIOUS.

I thought Rick doing the killing was really well done and unexpected! And I still super enjoy his and Damon's friendship.

Uncle John is the dick to end all dicks.

JENNA ILU. DON'T BE SAD.

I normally find Jeremy to be boring, but with Bonnie he's really endearing. Same as when he was with Anna. Apparently his taste in awesome women makes me like him, who knew? But I was so distracted by Bonnie and Jeremy being cute that I was totally blindsided by Bonnie's powers being taken away. BONNIE ;________;

Katherine is better than everyone. Enough said.

The best indication of how good this episode was is that I was two-thirds of the way through before I even noticed Caroline hadn't shown up.

In conclusion, Ian Somerhalder's rubber face makes me happy.

In other news, is The Eagle a fandom yet? Because I want it to be. I want it so much. BRING ME ALL OF THE SLASH. I'll wait here.

Well, really, when I think back, I'm not sure there's anyone who actually has been told everything - like, it seems like everyone either figured it out for themselves or, you know, got turned into something. So I kind of get why it doesn't really occur to them.

Yeah, I agree it would make a lot of sense, but I can understand WHY it hasn't occurred to the character, even though it is SO OBVIOUS to us.
