His dad just looked like Clark felt, all freaked out and nauseated, but his mom just blinked, and then moved on to make plans, like she was taking it all in stride.

Clark's clothes didn't fit very well anymore -- his jeans were baggy around the waist and tight at the hips and a litte too long, and the shirts just drowned him -- but her clothes wouldn't fit either, so they'd have to do for today. Tomorrow she'd take him down to Fordman's and buy him some new things and get him measured for a bra.

And it was summer, so they wouldn't have to worry about school, she continued; they could tell people Clark was away, visiting Martha's cousin, sick up in Michigan. Clark could be his daughter, come to stay with them for a while. They'd call him ... Claire.

"It'll all be fine, honey," his mom said, smiling at him, and for the first time Clark wondered about how weird it kinda was to pick up a little alien baby and take it home with you. Maybe *this* just came in stride after that.

I'm feeling much better, just mostly tired, and sore. I'm about to go off and face the dining hall -- I'm a little worried about that, but I haven't eaten anything since Tuesday night, which is what? 40-something hours? And the hunger's starting to return, which seems like a good sign.

And then I have to go to the library and do homework, and then to the ARC for class, and then if I'm not about to collapse, I desparately need groceriers, and if I am ready to collapse, I need to come back to my room and do homework, because I'm behind on my schedule now.

*sigh*

Pity me, all! I demand your sympathy!

Also, girl!Clark makes me die with laughter. Martha would so take it in stride.
