First, boring housing stuff for next year.
Possible junior housing, according to the little yellow sheet:
1. Pibly House, Gate House or Orchard House II [though it says elsewhere on the sheet that Gate House is not available]
2. Carriage House, Orchard Houses I and III
3. Hill House
4. Mods
Now. Problems with each of these options:
1. These require an eligibility petition. Also, Upper Campus, which I'm thinking would be annoying and frustrating, given that I have no means of transportation.
2. Again, Upper Campus.
3. Requires an exception petition. Which isn't really a big deal, but honestly. I really don't need one more stupid little thing to remember and have to worry about.
4. Requires getting a house together -- finding three other people who I'd want to live, who'd want to live with me, who are coming back next year, and who are interested in living in the Mods. Also, I hear they're kind of grungy.
Now for the important things!
So after class today, I headed down to the college center, check my mail like usual. I have a package slip. Woo, exciting! I figure, actually that it's either Molly's tapes or my parents sending supplies -- but no! It is from Amazon.com! This is no ordinary package. This is an exciting mystery package! I open it up over by the library, and find The Dark Knight Returns and the DVD for The Lion in Winter. I don't recognize the name on the billing address, but when I get back to my room, I look closer and see the note.
So, I'd like to officially say:
rivkat rocks my socks. I now lay myself down at your feet and say: Thank you so very, very much!

9/4/03 19:31 (UTC)But I have to see it again first! You cannot let somebody use a gift to you for the first time. That's just wrong, in many ways.

No, of course not. I will wait for an acceptable period before making my intentions formally known. <g>
And the four hours - well, don't tell the world, but that's the amount of time it takes my computer to read all the VOB files off a DVD and copy them to my hard drive. I desperately, desperately want a copy of that movie.
