29/5/03 14:22Right now, there are nine people living in my house: my father who works as a truck driver for a local nursery; my mother, who has been staying home since last fall; my 21 year old brother, who is rarely home; my 14 year old sister, in school during the day until next week; the 8 year old foster child, also in school; the 4 year old foster child; the 3 year old foster child; the 1 1/2 year old foster chld; and myself. There are also two large and friendly lab mix dogs and a spoiled cat.
This is all still somewhat of a shock after my nice, small, square dorm room, where I ruled over all. Total autocrat over my limited kingdom, man. This ... is not the same.
I hadn't quite realized just how many tantrums little kids throw in a day, either.
My life is very mundane. Today was a doctor's appointment, which was icky; afterwards, my mother dropped me off to the library, where I picked up a dozen or two books. That part was good.
Most of those books will, by the way, end up being discussed in
shinybookses, where
fox1013 and I have set up a reading journal for the two of us. Fun! There's a lot of good stuff going on away from my journal, actually. Fox and Jess have set up
lunchtime_poll, because they are giant, giant dorks. Which is also why I love them. Jess also has started a new community for Sports Night and West Wing fiction (
inthetallgrass), and she and I are still doing recs (all sorts of fandoms now!) at
butgeorge. And, of course, there's always my dearest darling AU at
selling_out.
And now I am starving, so I need to go seek out food. And then, I shall go and work on my silverlake remix (do on Saturday, eek).

29/5/03 15:37 (UTC)P.S. Are the 'rents still pissy at you? That can make a house feel even smaller and more crowded. On the bright side, you'll be working this summer, and when you're only home part of the time, maybe the house will seem more bearable.

29/5/03 17:46 (UTC)And no, my parents have taken the no-diploma thing astonishingly well. The pissiness level in the house is relatively low. I thank god for small favors.
