I did last a couple weeks, but I have finally given in; I just paid five dollars I can't quite justify to get all my userpics back. Sigh. But -- pretty new icon from wistful_fever! Mmmmmmmm, CKR.

This challenge looks like goofy, smutty fun. You pick a fandom and a genre (het, m/m slash, femslash), and you get three pornographic sexual position cards, and write a story featuring one of them.

Yesterday I read a quite enjoyable, if somewhat lightweight, book called Empress of the World by Sara Ryan. Young adult queer lit taking place at gifted kids camp, woot! There's nothing not to love in that scenario.

One completely random thing that amused me about the book, though, was that the narrator's professor for the summer was named Ms. Fraser. Further, there's a scene in the book, after the narrator has broken up with her girlfriend, where Ms. Fraser sets a meeting to ask her if anything is wrong, and is all supportive and advice-giving and blah blah blah.

I mean, in "Some Like It Red" he was solving a crime, obviously, but it's still a striking parallel to Fraser's behavior to Melissa the UberSlashy Catholic Schoolgirl in that episode.

Conclusion: Benton Fraser is a Friend to the Baby Dykes. Awww.

veronica mars yay!

Am now caught up with all twelve episodes of Veronica Mars.

OMG.

I love Veronica. I love Wallace. I love Keith and Logan and Lilly and Weevil and eeeeeeeeeeee.

...I do not love Duncan, but that's because Duncan is fucking creepy.

Oh! Oh! And the Logan/Lilly/Weevil triangle -- that is a perfect triangle, man, in the sense that it has no arm that does not make me squeal with glee. And Logan and Duncan are totally gay for each other -- which, okay, Logan could do better, but still, cute. And the ot4 that is the homecoming flashbacks in episode 4! The Lilly/Veronica subtext! The absolutely perfect platonic friendship of Veronica and Wallace! The hetcest implications! The Veronica-Weevil relationship (especially in Silence of the Lamb, heeeeeeeee)! The Veronica-Logan hate! The Veronica-Keith bond that makes me sniffle with love! The mystery and the wittiness and the sharpness and eeeeeeeee! And Logan in general -- it took me a long time, man; Fox can attest to my protestations of how much I didn't want to like him, but by this time I have given up and fallen all the way in.

And, of course, Lilly. I <3 Lilly muchly.

YAY.

I think I need an icon now. Hmmmmm.

I've been feeling really bizarrely needy and pathetic this week -- the kind where you keep going to yourself "Oh, I'll do this now, and then everybody will shower me with love and I'll be all better"? But really, the actual only solution is to get the hell over yourself.

In the interest of managing the latter goal, I am going to zen and spend the next ten minutes till class in a happy place.
