Man, some days I just LOVE fandom. No, seriously. *heart*

I was telling Kovsky yesterday about my sekrit dS pairing that I love that nobody else in the world wants to see, and she was mocking me. Dude, it's an incest pairing! I thought there was a law saying she had to approve! The fact that she's not in the fandom is irrelevant. Whatever, some day I will convince another person to share my vision!

I want everybody to write me Wilby Wonderful fic. Moooooooooore. I will pretend this is not just me being selfish and greedy, and use the excuse of how I need more stories around before I can update the link page, because when it's basically just me stories I feel weirdly like it is a vanity project. Isn't that a good excuse? The real reason is just me craving more stories, of course, but whatever. DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. Mmmmmm.

This picture of Sandra Oh makes me happy.

I am in one of those moods where I really want to write, but I have no idea what I want to write. This means writing will probably not happen. Really, though, it's just as well; I have plenty of homework to occupy me. Not to mention trying to defeat my high score at Dynomite over at Popcap Games (85,000, baby. OH YEAH.)

Lines That Will Not Be Growing Up Into Real Stories:

"Come on," Ray said, raising his hands up into the air, "come on, do me."

It's an invitation, but mostly it's a challenge; the tone of his voice, the expression on his face, even his posture all scream it loudly, and it's obvious to Fraser that Ray expects him to back down even here.

In theory, Meredith is totally happy for George and Izzie. Of course she is. They're her friends. She wants them to be happy, and if they're happy with each other, well ... then, yay. Good for them.

In practice, it's a different story.

"They hold hands," she tells Cristina, getting changed before pre-rounds. "They call each other 'sweetie' and 'dear.' This morning, when I went down to the kitchen? She was sitting on his lap at the table and they were Eskimo kissing. I can't be expected to deal with this before I've had coffee."

"Whatever, quit bitching," Cristina says.

"Excuse me?" says Meredith.

"So they're cute."

"Nauseatingly cute."

"--Nauseatingly cute. Big deal." Cristina starts to walk away, but she's still talking. "Jeez, Meredith, you can't stand seeing anybody else happy, can you?"

"I have no problem with seeing people happy!" Meredith calls after her, but Cristina just waves her hand in a small not-paying-attention gesture. Meredith scowls down at the locker and mutters, "I just don't need happy people in my house."

Finding out that Maggie's Fraser's sister, Ray thinks maybe he should feel a little bad about thinking about her like this, thinking about her in sexy ways. But she really is hot, cute and pretty and smart, and if Ray's going to be completely honest, the fact she's Fraser's sister maybe even makes it better.

*****

After Fraser dies, Ray gives Dief a choice: he can stay with him, he can go with somebody, he can even go back into the wilderness and stay up in the Arctic, if that's what floats his boat. Free will, just like Fraser always said.

Only it turns out that even after this many years hanging around Fraser, Ray still can't speak one word of wolf, let alone enough to figure out what it really is Dief wants. In the end, he takes him with when he moves back down to Chicago.

Sometimes Hope thinks that this must be what's it's like to be in a relationship with a genius. A real genius, or maybe an artist. The weird hours, the strange habits, all the quirkiness and weird behavior. And maybe he doesn't participate as much, or help out with things, but that's because he's busy doing other things. That's why he needs her, after all -- why she needs to take care of him. Geniuses aren't expected to be able to do these things.

The only difference, really, when Hope stops to think about it, is the fact that Curtis doesn't actually contribute anything to the world in return.

Fraser/Vecchio I have enjoyed recently:

+ The Eskimo Thing by Merryish
+ Conviction by China Shop
+ Hard Candy by Aerye

I read this pairing so rarely that I'm always surprised how well it works for me when I do find a story I really like. It's never going to be a pairing I see, particularly, but it can be quite charming and warmly snuggly in the same way as the show.

(Plus, it has a bazillion times more canon support than Ray/Ray, so THERE.)

Looking at the screencaps from Vault and thinking about those early scenes has me thinking about the Fraser-Vecchio and Fraser-Frannie and Frannie-Vecchio relationships some more, too. It's such an interesting contrast and balance there -- and they do the family relationships so well, because Ray and Frannie really seem like brother and sister; you can see it in how they relate to each other and the things they have in common, too. The Vecchios are loud and brash and emotional and just external; everything they have hangs out, nothing's played close to the chest, ever. It's all right there. So the contrast there makes Fraser seem even more internal than he would, otherwise -- layer upon layer, not lying ever, but more than he seems, private in ways that neither of the Vecchios would ever be. (Of course, for Fraser's that not a family trait at all; you'd certainly never describe Bob that way.)

(Hahaha, Kovsky, this is where I would link you to the Fraser/Frannie/Ray Vecchio threesome cliche fic, but I won't now, because I do not think you would appreciate it!)

1. George is the best guy in the history of the world. I want him to get cookies and cuddles and sex and everything his heart desires.

2. OH IZZIE.

3. I love Cristina/Burke, but my god, is it a trainwreck.

4. ...McDreamy, you are still a dick.

5. CHICK FIGHT WOOOOOOOT.
