Random poll of the day! Tell me, my lovelies, what do you think-- if talking in French to someone he was in a sexual relationship with, would Benton Fraser use the tu form or the vous form?
(I personally am inclined to think he would definitely have used the vous form with Victoria, but I'm not sure if it were Ray Kowalski.)
Second question, for extra bonus points: is it kind of weird that these are the questions that occupy me in the shower these days?
P.S., here is a link to my new favorite Grey's Anatomy George/Izzie story in the history of the world, which was written before last night's episode: Something Better by
fox1013. There is banter and scary girls and drinking and platonic sleeping and muppets and stuffed hippos and it is the best thing ever. Trust me.

27/2/06 20:09A short list of characters I love beyond all reason and who tend to reduce me to crazy flailing:
+ Benton Fraser (due South)
+ Sam Vimes (Discworld)
+ Aeryn Sun (Farscape)
+ George O'Malley (Grey's Anatomy)
+ Hope (Twitch City)
+ Duck MacDonald (Wilby Wonderful)
(Other characters who live just on the other side of the borderline include Lindsay Weir, Titus Pollo, Ray Kowalski, Izzie Stevens, River Tam, etc.)
In theory, I think there was must be some kind of organizing principle that I could point to for what these guys all have in common, but I can't really identify what it is. Except for the obvious bit about how complex good people are much more interesting than villains, of course.
Tonight I am staying up very late to finish a paper; I apologize in advance for the spammage that may ensue.

I just took my break from paper-writing to watch more Farscape, and I have decided that the very best part of "The Ugly Truth" is a tie between Claudia Black's line reading on "I missed you, too, John. Hold me." and the fact that the aliens' interrogation occasionally sounded incredibly Zim-like.
(I watched "The Locket" earlier in the day. That was mostly notable only for the amount of OTP wallowing it allowed. That, and wondering why old-man!John looks primitive and has a much stronger Southern accent.)
Now back to paper-writing for me. Wulf and Eadwacer, I will defeat you!
