schmerica: (ds: campfire)
Tomorrow I am taking the bus to Portland to see [livejournal.com profile] ficbyzee and [livejournal.com profile] liviapenn, YAAAAAAAY. Seriously, you guys have no idea how desperately I am in need to some loving social human contact this weekend.

Reading people's various posts the last few days reminiscing about the Ray wars has made me really glad the acceptance of Diefenbaker as a sentient being has not overcome people's innate bestiality squick. Because, really, can you imagine if fandom had to deal with the competing slash OTPs of Fraser and all three of his best friends?

Hey, you know what is a ridiculously easy way to fill me with love and goodwill towards your DS story? Mentioning the cannibalism and general horrific ineptitude of the Arctic explorers. I don't know why I love it so much, but it fills me with glee EVERY TIME. Cannibalism! Oh, history, you ROCK.

Today marks four and a half years in fandom to me. I realize for a bunhc of you, that's, like, a week, but ... man. That is a long time! Hi, fandom! I love you! Even though you freak me out!

I'm feeling very OTP-ish about Fraser/Kowalski at the moment. I just want to watch them bicker and argue and make out all the time in a loop in my head. Oh, boys.
schmerica: (alias: bristow love)
Also, this evening I finally watched the last two episodes of Alias for the first time, thus finishing off my very last pieces of canon I had saved away!

And, okay. The thing about Alias, as I was telling [livejournal.com profile] fox1013, is that it truly is the TRIUMPH of "yeah, but it would be COOL" over every single other storytelling consideration in the world. And really, considering in that light? It succeeds just about perfectly in all its goals.

In conclusion, <3 JACK BRISTOW I LOVE YOU FOREVER.
