24/7/03 00:19I went into Portland today -- the second time in a week, woohoo. Met up with
liviapenn at Pioneer Square (I was fifteen minutes late), and stopped at the mall real quick so Livia could have a pretzel dog and I could pick up an extremely cute dress I've been eyeing for a few weeks. Afterwards, we walked over the theater and met some friends of hers and saw PotC again -- third time for both of us, I believe.
Okay, so the first time I saw the movie, it was all watching, everything's new, blah blah, right? And the *second* time, I'm watching for nitpicks and foreshadowing and everything I missed the first time. Number three, though? Pretty much pure squeeeeee.
Also, Jack, Will and Elizabeth each become more complex and likable each time I see it. And I still don't get Jack/Norrington.
Anyway, after the movie: a. Livia and I discussed Orlando Bloom's weird woobie-on-command eyes, which mutated into how Peter Parker is the woobie-to-end-all-woobies (because I just watched Spiderman this week); b. She, her friends and I went to some Cuban (Caribbean!) place and ate some tasty, extremely cheap food; c. I saw her friend's incredibly cool sketches and d. Livia sent me home with confusing MAX directions.
One further note, as I was reminded of this by the movie today: Swordfights or fencing? Always sexy. I have drooled over this phenomenon with both
thete1 and
carmarthen, and ... dude. For one thing, just swordsssss. And then the movements! And the instant sexual tension! And ... okay, I don't know why else. But mmmmmmmmmmmm.

24/7/03 02:10 (UTC)Indeed - that's why I was so happy 4 years ago when the boything announced he was taking up fencing...
He was concerned it would be too expensive, and I'm all "No, no, it'll be fine, go right ahead" ;)
