I don't think I've come across many instances anywhere else, but here I keep getting links to all these stories in book-type format -- one line break and a tab for each paragraph. Which, you know, is hard enough to read on screen (especially for long amounts of time) that I'm automatically skipping them, including ones that seem to be recced highly.
It is mighty vexing, I must say.

10/8/03 16:07 (UTC)See - that's why I save them to my PC and format them for my Palm Pilot. I get what I want, and I don't have to sit at the computer.
I have been known to save things as plain text and just reformat them and read them on the 'puter, though. Global search/replace is a wonderful thing. I don't recommend using MS Word for it, though - I use Note Tab Pro (http://www.notetab.com), which has easy-to-find-and-use commands for both replacing line breaks and joining broken lines.

11/8/03 23:45 (UTC)Well, it depends on how attached you are to reading things in that fandom. For Firefly, I'll save and reformat *anything*. For other fandoms, it depends. It's kinda like LJ - anyone who uses white (or worse, red) text on a black backgroud isn't gonna say anything that I want to read. :>
lol
