schmericaI am bored like a bored thing. But bored is better than going completely fucking nuts from evil children, so I do not complain.
Instead, I shall ponder the sort of fic I'm crossing my fingers for in the next few months. Namely: post-Phoenix Clark/Lex. Because, mmmmm.
Smallville was my first fandom, you know, and I got in at the very very beginning of 2002, so I think season one Clark/Lex is always going to be my nostalgic comfort food. Billionaires and farmboys and deliveries and lofts and friendships of legend and all the other fond cliches; in retrospect it seems strangely innocent and open, their big gay courtship, their neediness and their differentness and their easy bond.
It's different now, of course, because now they've both changed, changed significantly from the men they were. They're damaged now, and harder, shaped by the stuff that's happened to them. But they're still connected, they still have the Big Gay Love.
It might just be my massive emotional vulnerability and damaged kinks, but I'm looking forward immensely to the sort of stories that should come out of this, ones this with different S3 Clarks and Lexs, that step beyond season one boys who just had a crazy summer.
