Heh. I think I've been avoiding my next entry in the weird hope that leaving the Clark/Lex story at the top of my journal page will somehow inspire more people to read it. But. Um. No.

But! Yesterday was a good day, I must say. It was a Day of Girl-crushes. Witness:

+ While Mandy Moore's boyfriend pretty much sucked on SNL, her new album is making me happy-happy. Hmm. Do I need a Mandy Moore icon? (All this space is making me so loose and wacky!)

+ Keira Knightley! All Russian and tragic! Very nice. And sexy necking there, too.

+ Actually, while vaguely on the subject of Dr. Zhivago -- I went into the living room about five minutes before it started, and thus caught the last five minutes of my grandfather watching Cold Case. Was that really River Tam being brutally murderered, there?

+ Please note the pretty icon the jess made for me. Thank you.

I will read it, really. I just can't read any SV until I finish the short SV series I'm working on, but I've got it saved and waiting. I promise feedback, too, to make up for the delay.

Aw. That was not my post of making people guilty, but rather my post of "I am a big dork"ness. But ooh, SV fic.

I didn't think that was your intent, and I understand the big dorkness. [g]

hee. i think i've done that before, hesitated on the next entry when i've posted a piece of art i really like.

btw, I love your Clark/Lex, but this last one had me feeling vaguely frustrated. probably like Clark. *g* i guess it's because i tend to like wildly improbable fic, and i think your story hit a little too close to the actual show. but i really did enjoy reading it. sorry i'm not expressing myself very well, probably why i suck at giving feedback. :b

Heh. Any feedback is better than sitting around the computer like paranoid girl, yo. But I don't think you expressed yourself badly at all-- I think I get what you're saying. I'm glad you did enjoy it, even if it *was* frustrating, anyway.

I missed Keira on PBS! Totally forgot it was on last night and therefore did not set a tape. Pout. Was it worth watching?

Hmm. I'm not sure if it was for people who aren't obsessed with Keira Knightley, but for you, probably. And I personally am a big fan of the Russian! and snowy! and tragic! sort of thing, so I liked it.

Kiera Knightley is lovely, but I'm not sure I can deal with my beloved Omar Sharif being replaced with That Nice Lad Who I Really Don't Care About.

Not to mention they're both wayyyyy too young for the roles, and remaking David Lean movies is sacrilege.

If the book is old and "classic"y enough in my head, I tend to think of it as a new adaption instead of a remake.

Although! I was thinking of you much of the time, all "Russian! and tragic! And in the other movie, this is Omar Sharif, whom Mel loves!"

They're still too young and. The Lean version is definative.

Am I predictable or something? Mmmm, Omar Sharif.

I'm not actually all that fond of Dr. Zhivago as a movie -- pretty scenery, pretty Omar, too much annoying love story, not enough politics. But still! It's pretty and has Omar Sharif!

Yes it was. With her murder and the sex scene I kept think that Simon was going to be kicking ass soon.

It was weird to see Summer in a non-crazy speaking role (as small as it was).

Ah! Good, I am not going crazy.

I did not see a sex scene -- I just came in for the last bit where she was getting beaten and shot by random couple.

Ah, but the couple was not so random.

The guy half of said couple had had sex with Summer's character, thereby tarnishing the dream couple's pure pure extra special one true love (they were creepy, but mostly because the show is rather bad).

So obviously the only way to make their love true again (and reinstate the guy's virginity) was to kill poor Summer's character.

I was happy to se Summer getting work, but I wish she could have landed a better part. At least it wasn't CSI Miami.
