It's really not that hard to avoid the things that make you cranky. Really. It's not. There are defriending and cut tags and everything. Sometimes people even warn you.

Therefore, I recommend you

a) stop reading any of the fannish unpopular opinions memes, because it just makes you paranoid and snotty and making up imaginary lists in your head like "Spelling and editing are not your friend" and "Why not spell it Luther, anyway?" and "People who like shows that I don't like are stupid, thoughtless, and deserve to die slow painful deaths".

b) Avoid the Clark bitching. SERIOUSLY. AVOID IT. It just makes you think even meaner things about people, and you *like* many of these people. Remember the love, dude.

c) ...Okay, that's all I have for now. Except the chicken is probably burning in the oven, so maybe you should go check on that.

I don't know -- it doesn't seem all that different from the usual periodic bitching, except for being codified into meme-form. And I do think therealjae has a good point about how well fandom takes crit, as opposed to other subgroups (where I personally think the ability to take crit would be considerably more constructive and worthwhile, but ah well).

I also MUST stop reading the unpopular fannish opinions meme. Because about 3 out of every 4 I read, I sink lower in my seat and declare that I'll never post anything ever again.

And this isn't good, considering I have to write 2 Yuletide stories still, and one of them is going to be very, very difficult. And the other one should be easy, but I'm experiencing mental blockages due to me reading about all these annoying things that I do constantly.
