My god, my sleeping patterns are so screwed up. There's not even any one on my buddy list awake!

I did try to go to bed earlier, but instead of sleeping I ended up writing in fandoms I'm not entirely comfortable with. Go figure.

The red light was taking way too long to pass, in Ray's opinion, but apparently traffic lights didn't give a damn about his opinion, who knew? He tapped his hands thoughtfully against the wheel and looked over at Fraser in the passenger seat -- he was looking out the window and not at Ray. "Hey, Fraser."

"Yes, Ray?" Fraser turned his head to him, all attentive.

Ray said, "Do you think people can have, you know, two real loves?" He'd had a lot of time to think this over lately, and he gestured vaguely to help Fraser get what he was saying. "Not just anything, I mean, but big time, high stakes, love of your life. The works. You think it can strike twice?"

Fraser looked straight ahead, through the windshield, and he didn't have much of an expression on his face. He said real quiet, "I'm not entirely certain that can be achieved once, Ray."

"Oh," said Ray, "yeah, okay." He was still thinking that over when the light turned green.

On a random note, my first thought on the commentary track thing going around -- the annotated versions of the stories people are making -- was that it seemed kind of self indulgent (I always tend to really avoiding talking about my thoughts or intentions with my stories, I know, because I have this deep discomfort with it, like I think it's tacky or something).

But my immediate second thought was pretty much the complete opposite, because -- man, it's a fascinting topic, and one I find that incredibly interesting as a reader, which is the main thing, anyway. Most of the things I've seen so far have been in popslash (where I read some) and Harry Potter (where I read almost nothing), but it seems to be spreading around more now.

I'm awake! I officially have the sleeping patterns of a vampire now, I think, but I'm also in a freaky timezone.

And yeah, the commentary thing does hint at the wanky, but if it can avoid that, what a cool look at the process. I haven't seen anybody actually provide a commentary yet; do you have any links?

There's already a page of links to a bunch of them here (http://www.doyourthing.org/sf/) -- I think [livejournal.com profile] lisew and [livejournal.com profile] stubbleglitter put it together.

Heh. Uh, sorry?

I'm not sure where this came from, actually, because I'm not familiar enough with the canon of the show yet to not be really paranoid and awkward and uncomfortable about writing.

Man, I don't even know whether to glare at you or snug you. Can I do both at once?

*shakes LJ in hope the rest of the story might come tumbling out*

For a fandom you're not comfortable with, in this snip I think you've got them spot-on.

Thank you!

I really haven't seen enough of the show to really write dS, though; I don't think I can know the characters well enough until I've seen most of the episodes.
