i coulda been a defendent
19/5/04 21:18Yeah, really not so fond of this episode -- very low on my list of seasons three and four as a whole, I think. Still, though, pretty much every episode has things that hit my squee factor.
Things that make me go *heart*:
+ Fraser knocking on the mirror and Ray's response
+ Fraser in the scene in the interrogation room with Bruce
+ Cute nervous first day Frannie
+ ooh, I didn't know Ray had glasses in this episode! With the flippy frames!
+ Frannie's *allure*
+ "I could do that. I choose not to."
+ The way Fraser throws himself down to sleep
+ Fraser and Ray wrestling with the sleeping bag for the phone
Other notes:
The music for the climax is a really odd choice. And everybody gets clean and dry really quickly at the end, huh?
Next up, Strange Bedfellows. Wheee, Ray marriage angst.

"Shake, bad guys, shake."
I love that moment a whole lot, a whole whole big, my god, I just want to hug Ray to pieces for saying it like that, sweet poet-on-the-inside-sorta-woobie-Ray, guh. And Fraser's response! With the head-tilt! And "Hm." eeeeeeee...
Fraser, hunched over the table, chin on his hands, guh.
Girl-power chemistry with Elaine and Frannie.
Welsh and Ray doing part of Fraser's "I first came to Chicago..." speech.
Ray: "You know what it's like. You *hunker*." Cutey cuteness with his "hunker."
"A tuck-in-on-the-floor, I-hurt-my-back-badge."
"I'll get you one."

So. Married.
I liked this ep a whole lot more the second time around. The first time, I couldn't stop squeeing over finally having context for a whole bunch of my favorite soundclips.

20/5/04 07:20 (UTC)I'm not sure why more of those moments didn't make my list, actually. Maybe I was just cranky last night.
Fraser, hunched over the table, chin on his hands, guh.
Oh, yes. And actually, not just that scene, but the whole episode, I really loved Fraser's interactions with Bruce in general. It was very sweet.

20/5/04 05:27 (UTC)I really love the groping for the phone. There is no earthly reason for Fraser to be wrestling with Ray -- it's Ray's phone, he can answer it perfectly well. And yet, groping.

Heh, I'm not sure I would go as far as to say *that*, you know. Ray was having some issues. But, yay gratituous groping.

20/5/04 06:26 (UTC)I do have to agree with Starfish and Estrella on this - this episode grows on you. On first watching, I wasn't as impressed, but after subsequent viewings, there are definite moments. (all over the Fraser/RayK phone groping!) ::g::
